How the twisted handle gets onto the bag
A twisted handle paper bag machine has to do two jobs the bag body section does not: form the paper rope, and bond it to a reinforcing patch that carries the load. The ZW-A13 does both inline, so a finished bag leaves the machine with the handle already attached.
The rope runs at an adjustable centre distance of 110-150 mm, and that number decides whether a given bag width is actually runnable. Handle length is set between 340 and 460 mm. Below 200 mm bag width the geometry runs out, and that limit belongs to the handle station rather than to the bag body section.
Two things follow from that, and both are worth knowing before you fix a specification:
- Cotton and ribbon rope cannot run inline. Only twisted paper rope bonds reliably during forming. If your customers specify cotton or silk ribbon, those bags have to be punched and threaded after forming, on a separate rope threading machine.
- The patch decides the strength, not the rope. In practice a handle fails where the patch lets go, which is why patch weight and adhesive open time matter more than rope diameter.
